Professional Dog Training That Builds Calm, Reliable Behavior
When walks turn into a tug-of-war, guests get greeted with jumping, or your dog seems to forget everything they know once distractions appear, more practice is not always the whole answer. Sometimes your dog needs a more consistent environment where expectations are clear throughout the day.
Sit Now Stay offers professional board and train near Country Hill, KS for dogs who need that added structure. Our Boarding School programs combine individualized training, clear communication, purposeful routines, and hands-on practice to help dogs develop skills they can use in everyday life.
Give Your Dog the Consistency They Need to Learn
Dogs learn through repetition, clear communication, and predictable expectations. Those things can be surprisingly difficult to maintain at home. Work schedules change, family members may respond differently to the same behavior, and training can easily become something that only happens for a few minutes when there is time.
Boarding School gives your dog an opportunity to practice within a consistent routine. Training is woven into the day, allowing our team to reinforce good choices, work through challenges, and help your dog understand what is expected in different situations. Instead of waiting until something goes wrong, we can build the behaviors we want your dog to use from the beginning.

7-Day
The 7-Day Boarding School is designed as a structured introduction for dogs who need direction, engagement, and a clear starting point. This program focuses on building attention, developing marker-based communication, improving impulse control, and introducing calm routines that set expectations from the start. It is an excellent fit for newly adopted dogs, younger high-energy dogs, and owners who want a professional foundation in place.
14-Day
The 14-Day Boarding School is our most requested program and works well for the majority of dogs. This extended time allows us to establish strong obedience, improve leash behavior, reduce jumping and overexcitement, and build reliable focus in distracting environments. Many dogs complete this program able to walk calmly on leash, greet people appropriately, and respond with confidence both at home and in public settings.
21-Day
The 21-Day Boarding School is our most in-depth program, ideal for dogs who need stronger reliability, advanced distraction work, or additional time to build confidence and consistency. Training moves through foundational skills, controlled exposure to distractions, and more complex real-world scenarios. This often includes off-leash foundations, dependable recall, structured place behavior around guests, and calm, composed behavior in public environments.
We will work together to help determine the best class length for you and your dog!

Why choose sit now stay
A Clear Communication System
Our marker-based communication system gives dogs precise, consistent feedback that reduces confusion and speeds up learning. Owners leave with a repeatable system they can use long after the program ends.
Structured Training Progression
Every dog follows a defined progression that builds skills in the correct order. Foundations come first, followed by leash communication, household manners, and real-world application so training feels logical and achievable.
Ongoing Transparency and Updates
Owners receive regular video updates and written progress notes throughout the stay. You see exactly what your dog is learning and how they are progressing, with no surprises.
Purpose-Built Training Facility
All Boarding School programs take place at our professional training facility in Lenexa. The environment is calm, structured, and designed specifically for learning rather than chaos or overstimulation.
More Than Obedience: Training for Everyday Life
Knowing how to sit in a quiet room is different from being able to listen when the doorbell rings, another dog walks past, or something exciting happens across the street.
That is why our approach goes beyond practicing commands in controlled situations. We build skills toward real-life application. Your dog can work on walking calmly, settling when activity is happening nearby, maintaining focus around distractions, responding to recall, and understanding expectations around people and new environments.
For Country Hill dog owners, the benefit is practical. Training should make walks, visitors, outings, and ordinary evenings at home easier. Those are the moments where better communication and reliable behavior matter most.

What Your Dog Can Work On During Boarding School
Boarding School builds skills around the situations you encounter with your dog every day. Depending on your dog's needs and program, training may include engagement, leash communication, place and household manners, recall, calm routines, confidence, public manners, and working around distractions.
The value of these skills is in how they change daily life. Better leash communication can make neighborhood walks more enjoyable. Place training can give your dog a clear job when guests arrive. Recall gives you another important communication skill, while engagement teaches your dog to stay mentally connected with you when the environment becomes interesting.
These individual skills work together as training progresses. The goal is a dog who has a clearer understanding of what you are asking and an owner who knows how to communicate those expectations.
