Professional Dog Training Evaluation for Kansas City Owners

If your dog’s behavior feels inconsistent, overwhelming, or unpredictable, it can be hard to know which type of training will actually help. The Complimentary Training Day at Sit Now Stay gives Kansas City dog owners clarity through a structured evaluation at our Lenexa facility, where our professional training team observes your dog’s behavior, focus, confidence, and response to clear communication so we can make thoughtful recommendations based on real observation, not assumptions.

This is an evaluation experience, not a full training program.
The goal is to understand what is driving your dog’s behavior and outline a responsible, effective next step.

Book a Complimentary Consultation

Every successful training plan starts with the right assessment. This introductory training day allows us to see your dog in action and helps you understand what type of support will be most effective. After the evaluation, we review what we observed and explain which training options make sense for your dog. That may include Day School, Boarding School, puppy programs, or owner-focused coaching.

Next step: Book a Complimentary Consultation to schedule your evaluation day and complete a short intake so our team can prepare.

What to Expect During the Evaluation Day

Your dog follows a calm, structured routine focused on learning and observation. This is not daycare and there is no group play. Your dog works one-on-one with trainers so we can assess engagement around distractions, leash manners and handler connection, impulse control and household manners, confidence in new environments, motivation, and common concerns like jumping, barking, or pulling. By the end of the day, you will have a clear understanding of what your dog needs and which type of training will be most effective.

The Value of an Evaluation-First Approach

Many Kansas City dog owners feel pressured to choose a training program before they fully understand what their dog actually needs. Starting with a structured evaluation helps prevent wasted time, money, and frustration by identifying the right path from the beginning. An evaluation-first approach allows us to see how your dog learns, responds to structure, and handles real-world challenges.

This introductory training day helps you:

  • Receive honest feedback based on real behavior
  • Avoid committing to the wrong training path
  • Understand what progress can realistically look like
  • Move forward with a clear, structured plan

This approach is especially valuable if your dog behaves well at home but struggles in public, feels overwhelming on leash, or shows signs of anxiety, reactivity, or poor impulse control. By starting with an evaluation, you gain clarity, confidence, and a plan you can trust.
