Build Better Behavior With Professional Training

When your dog pulls you down the sidewalk, jumps whenever someone comes through the door, or stops listening as soon as something exciting appears, everyday activities can become harder than they need to be. You may know what you want your dog to do but struggle to create the consistency needed to get there.

Sit Now Stay offers professional board and train near Roeland Park, KS for dogs who benefit from focused training and a predictable daily routine. Our Boarding School programs give your dog dedicated time with experienced trainers to develop better communication, manners, confidence, and practical skills.

Build Better Habits Through Consistent Training

Consistency is one of the most important parts of dog training, but it can also be one of the hardest things to create at home. Work, school, activities, visitors, and different family members can all affect how and when training happens. A dog may hear one expectation from one person and something different from another.

Boarding School gives your dog a more predictable learning environment. Training becomes part of the daily routine, giving your dog repeated opportunities to practice useful behaviors with clear feedback from professional trainers. Instead of only addressing pulling, jumping, or poor listening after it happens, we can spend time teaching your dog what to do instead.

This focused approach helps dogs develop a clearer understanding of expectations. When it is time to return home, you have a stronger training foundation to work from and a system you can continue using in your own routines.

7-Day

The 7-Day Boarding School is designed as a structured introduction for dogs who need direction, engagement, and a clear starting point. This program focuses on building attention, developing marker-based communication, improving impulse control, and introducing calm routines that set expectations from the start. It is an excellent fit for newly adopted dogs, younger high-energy dogs, and owners who want a professional foundation in place.

14-Day

The 14-Day Boarding School is our most requested program and works well for the majority of dogs. This extended time allows us to establish strong obedience, improve leash behavior, reduce jumping and overexcitement, and build reliable focus in distracting environments. Many dogs complete this program able to walk calmly on leash, greet people appropriately, and respond with confidence both at home and in public settings.

21-Day

The 21-Day Boarding School is our most in-depth program, ideal for dogs who need stronger reliability, advanced distraction work, or additional time to build confidence and consistency. Training moves through foundational skills, controlled exposure to distractions, and more complex real-world scenarios. This often includes off-leash foundations, dependable recall, structured place behavior around guests, and calm, composed behavior in public environments.

Training That Makes Everyday Life Easier

Good dog training should make a difference outside the training room.

You probably care less about whether your dog can perform perfectly in a controlled environment than whether you can enjoy a walk together, welcome someone into your home, or get your dog's attention when something distracting happens nearby.

Our training progression is designed with those real situations in mind. We build foundations in engagement and communication before progressing into leash skills, household manners, recall, distractions, and real-life application. Your dog gets opportunities to practice responding appropriately instead of only memorizing individual commands.

For Roeland Park dog owners, that can mean less frustration on neighborhood walks, calmer interactions at home, and greater confidence taking your dog along for everyday activities.

Structured Training Progression

Every dog follows a defined progression that builds skills in the correct order. Foundations come first, followed by leash communication, household manners, and real-world application so training feels logical and achievable.

Purpose-Built Training Facility

All Boarding School programs take place at our professional training facility in Lenexa. The environment is calm, structured, and designed specifically for learning rather than chaos or overstimulation.

Skills Your Dog Can Build During Boarding School

Your dog's training plan will depend on their needs, but Boarding School can address engagement, leash communication, place, household manners, recall, crate training, calm routines, socialization, confidence, and behavior around distractions.

We care about what those skills actually do for you at home. Better leash communication can turn a stressful walk into time you enjoy spending together. Place can give your dog a clear expectation when someone arrives at the house. Recall builds an important communication skill, while stronger engagement helps your dog stay mentally connected to you when the environment competes for their attention.

By building these skills together, we create a more complete training foundation rather than focusing on isolated commands.

Could Boarding School Be Right for Your Dog?

Board and train is not only for dogs with severe behavior problems. It can be useful for young dogs who need a strong foundation, adult dogs with frustrating habits, or families who simply want professional help creating more reliable behavior.

Your dog may benefit from Boarding School if you are dealing with:

  • Pulling or frustrating leash behavior
  • Jumping on family members or visitors
  • Poor recall
  • Difficulty settling
  • Door rushing or bolting
  • Overexcitement
  • Inconsistent responses to familiar cues
  • Poor focus around distractions
  • Fear or uncertainty in unfamiliar situations
  • Household manners that never seem to improve

We look at the individual dog instead of assuming one program or training approach is appropriate for everyone.

  • How long is the Boarding School program?

Program length is determined after the Free Training Day. We recommend the option that best matches your dog’s needs and your goals.
